Adding even more crime prevention methods to a home is of great importance today, as jobs are lost, and people become more desperate due to their lack of funds will make you more of a hard target for theft than you would ever imagine. You may already have a wireless driveway alarm installed on your property, but that will just let you know that someone is present on your lot, and will not slow them down, or make them think twice about entering the driveway or sidewalk of your home’s perimeter. The more visual speed bumps you can install tastefully, like security gates at your driveway entrance, the more a criminal with think about going to his or her next victims home.
The sheer image of wrought iron gates that are six to eight feet tall is an intimidating scene for the average person, and will definitely get rid of first time burglars as they will be overwhelmed at the prospect of having to work through an extra tier of your home’s security schematic. Adding even more accessories like motion detectors for lighting, and a remote wireless security camera near your security gates will send the message to all that you are ready for them to try and enter your land, and they will be going to jail if they advance any further.
Security gates will be best installed when a security fence is being installed, as the cost will be much less, and will create a seamless defense line around your house, and land. This is a modest invest in your family’s safety, and you should be prepared to pay around three to four thousand dollars for the gates, automatic gate openers, electrical, and labor. This will be just pennies a month if you look at this cost over a twenty to thirty year period. Be sure and have your contractor add a push button switch in or near the garage, and another with easy access inside your home.
There are wireless gate opener remotes available that will clip on your visor like a garage door opener, and also the tiny remote that fits on your key-ring like the keyless entry fob for your vehicle.
