Using a driveway alarm system can hedge your bets against your vehicle being stolen in the middle of the night while you are sleeping – Think about it – if you have a driveway alert system in place and it goes off in the middle of the night and everyone is home – then you probably have a huge problem outside. A car thief only has a few seconds to get his job done and if you are alerted the second the thief enters your driveway – this will give you a heads up to turn on the lights (you should already have motion lights in place as well) – call 911 or yell out a window that you have called the police and they are on the way -
This ounce of prevention is also a way to keep the crack-heads from doing a smash and grab on your vehicle – Again a driveway monitoring system let’s you know someone who should not be in your driveway is present and at 2 AM – no one should be on your property outside. Plus you should always head the warnings of the police do not keep valuables in plain site in your car – laptops, cell phones, lose money, etc should be removed or hidden in your car.
There are a few driveway wireless alarm systems that allow you integrate motion lights into the system so you can have double protection – but even if you install a cheap $13.00 driveway alert system you are way a head of the curve.
With jobs being lost and money not as readily available – people are getting more desperate today and it’s really up to us and not the police to make sure we are safe – The police only show up after the bad act has happened so it is our responsibility to protect our vehicles and property.
Of course the best security is to park your car in your garage – it’s not a guarantee that you won’t be victim of auto theft but it’s one more step a crook may not want to take – Most people use their garages for storage today and leave theirs in the driveway – Most streets in suburbia today are like a huge shopping mall for thieves a burglars.
Another reason to own a driveway alarm system is if you own a motorcycle that you park in the driveway – especially sports bikes like a GSXR-1000’s, Yamaha YZF-R1’s, etc can be picked up by three people and loaded into a van or on a trailer in seconds – the monitoring system could prevent this and keep those morons away from your prized two wheel possession.
